MTV’s president tells how serious issues are helping the channel to win new viewers

Broadcasters around the world were happy to honour the 85th birthday of Nelson Mandela last month with documentaries, tributes and news items. The former President of South Africa is hardly a well known rock icon, yet it was Bill Roedy and MTV that came up with one of the most imaginative contributions.
